Sheep

We raise Icelandic Sheep, one of the oldest breeds of sheep.

We believe sheep should be raised on pasture, so we are breeding for ewes who produce vigorous, grass-fed lambs with fabulous fleeces.

This primitive breed of sheep is triply productive, raised for meat, wool, and milk. The sheep are dual-coated: the long outer coat is called tog and the fine inner coat thel. The tog can be used for hard working outer garments, while the thel is next-to-skin soft. The two fibers are often spun together into lopi yarn.

We periodically sell raw fleece, washed and carded spinning batts, and hand woven wool rugs in the shop. Lambs will be available in the fall; if you would like more information, please contact us.
