FAQs

You’re planning on moving your family from beautiful Florida to North Dakota… Are you crazy?

No.

I can buy a bar of soap at the big box store for a dollar. Why should I spend more for handmade?

Next time you’re at the big box store, read the label on those so called “bath bars.” Recognize anything except for fragrances and water? I didn’t think so.

Commercial bath bars are made with a mess of detergents and surfactants that dry out your skin. Turtle Cove Farm soaps are handmade with the finest all natural vegetable oils, such as skin-loving olive and rice bran oils and luxurious mango butter. Goat’s milk adds a rich creaminess to each bar of soap, gently cleansing without stripping the skin of its natural oils.

If you’ve been tempted to swear off soap forever because of dry skin, I urge you to try handmade soap – you’ll never let another soap touch your skin.

Why would you move from Florida to North Dakota?

The short answer? Our boys. We want to raise our children where they can run free and just be kids. We want to watch them grow up, not pay someone else to raise our children as we each work ten-hour days just to pay the bills. And we want to teach them the power and strength of hard work and self-sufficiency.

Are you sure you’re not crazy?

Well, maybe a little.

I’m allergic to heavy scents and strong fragrances. Do you offer anything fragrance free?

Yes! Try Naked Goat soap, Goats ‘n Oats soap, and Liberated, my new fragrance free knitting salve.

Why don’t you make soap with my favorite fragrance/yarn in my favorite color?

If you’re looking for something specific, please let me know. I love new ideas and together we can work on something just for you!

Knitting Salve? I don’t knit! Why would I want that?

You don’t knit? Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.

Where can I find Turtle Cove Farm products?

You can find Turtle Cove Farm yarns, soaps and Knitting Salve at Yarny Goodness, Phat Fiber, and All Strung Out in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Don’t you know it gets cold in North Dakota?

That’s okay; in the winter we’ll just put on more wool sweaters and add another log to the fire. In the summer we’ll enjoy long, quiet evenings without air pollution, noisy neighbors, or violence in the news.

Are you crazy?

Probably.
